Extent of the horrible ankle injury by Oswaldo Cabrera unveiled

The way to recover Oswaldo Cabrera has started, although it is unlikely that it will bring it back to the field this season.

The beloved utilityman of the Yankees underwent successful ankle surgery on Thursday after suffering a broken ankle in a cruel game on the plate in Seattle on Monday evening.

The process also revealed some band damage, said manager Aaron Boone on Friday, which would probably contribute to his schedule for a return.

Cabrera announced that he operated on social media on Thursday.

The teammates of Cabreras were disturbed and crushed when he was removed from the field in an ambulance, but he collected consolation when they saw him in a good atmosphere later in the night or on Tuesday morning in the hotel lobby before he flew back to New York.
