Man who was identified in the frontal accident in Phelan as Hugo Guzman Lopez, 43, from Adelanto

Phelan, California (vvng.com) – The authorities identified the man, who was killed in a frontal accident in the Sheep Creek Road at the beginning of this week, as a 43-year-old Hugo Guzman Lopez.

The fatal crash occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, around 8:50 p.m. near the intersection of Sheep Creek and Chevoit Roads.

As already reported by VVNG, the collision included a silver Nissan and a dark-colored Chevrolet suburb, with the SUV overturning and the limousine suffers large front-end damage.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Lopez drove north in Nissan when the suburb, which drove south, crossed the opposing track and hit his vehicle head -on.

Lopez was found in his vehicle and died of paramedics at the scene of the crime. He was the only person in the sedan.

The driver of the SUV suffered what civil servants described as minor injuries and rejected the transport to a hospital.

Chp said alcohol or drugs were not suspected as contributors, and the crash continues to be examined.
