Kristian Campbell from Red Sox works in 1b in the Casas injury to Alex Cora

The Boston Red Sox can have another internal solution to take on your free first basic role.

Before Red Sox's home series against the Atlanta Braves, the rookie -infieler Kristian Campbell was repeated on the first basis. This happened after the proven Hitter Rafael Devers that he was not open to the position.

Red Sox Manager said that the team “for options” was looking for and wanted to see what it looks like for Campbell on the first basis.

“Yes, looking for options,” said Cora, according to Ian Browne from MLB.com. “Obviously we get Romy, probably at the end of the week, early next week.

The position was available after the reigning first Baseman Tristan Casas went down with a broken patellar tendon. He is on the road for the season.

Campbell entered the season as Red Sox No. 2 Prospect and made the team's opening day. He currently meets with five homes and 15 RBIs .246/.337/408. He had an excellent April, scored .301 and won the Al rookie of the month for his efforts.

He played most of his games in the second base, but filled it out in midfield and in the left field. He had played Shortstop, Third Base and Right Field, but never played the first basis on professional or college level.

Despite the lack of experience, a transition to the first could open the door for the current prospect Marcelo Mayer of number 2 to switch to the majors to play the second basis or shortstop. Instead, if the Red Sox brought a player like Gonzales, David Hamilton or Ceddane Rafaela to second place, the Prospect Roman Anthony of No. 1 could get the call for the field of the outer field instead.

While the first basis may not be Campbell's long-term position, he could change there to inject the squad a young talent and help the team to improve his 22-23 record.
