West Forsyth wins his first lacrosse championship for girls

Division 3 – Girls – West Forsyth 16, Walton 7

The third time is the charm for West Forsyth when the Wolverines has the Lacrosse State Championship Trophy of the Three Girls division for the first time. After the Wolverines fell on back-to-back final in Milton in 2023 and 2024, they exhibited some frustration and put the game into a running clock after the 14:4 lead in half of the third quarter. You would win with a score of 16: 7.

The game looked like it was an offensive shooting in the first half of the first quarter, with both teams achieving their first three possessions. However, the Raiders did not achieve for almost 24 minutes, only until the center of the third quarter. During this time, West Forsyth 11 of the next 12 goals scored to bring the game out of reach.

The Wolverines were run by Bryn Birkholz and Luca Diehl, both of whom scored five goals in the game. West Forsyth is expected to be just as successful next year and will only lose five seniors. Among the returnees are both Birkholz and Diehl, a junior or newcomer.

On the other side of the field, Walton is still looking for his first title in the three division period after he has not won a championship since 2016.
