Emotional day in court in the conviction of the man who beat and killed Sam Dekuiper – 9 & 10 messages

Traverse City – Sam Dekuiper was recently a graduate of Traverse City West – he spent his time there to play both football and baseball.

Friday Nicholas Schram was sentenced to prison from Lapeer County because he had met and killed decuiper.

The crash occurred in May in the Grand Traverse County, when Schramm crossed the center line and met the Dekuiper Head.

In the truck, Schram drove five more people who were also injured.

Nicholas Schram was invited to the courtroom of the Grand Traverse County Circuit, where he quickly folded his hands and whispered his lawyer, who made an opening speech.

“I don't want someone to think that this is not the worst tragedy that could ever happen,” said Schram's lawyer.

Five of Dekuipers friends and family provided heartbreaking effects on the effect that the judge temporarily commissioned the toughest punishment.

One of these statements came from Dekuiper's mother Brenda Dekuiper, who held a poster to the courtroom and showed the destroyed car that was hardly recognizable.

“Sam's mutilated and burned body is in this vehicle. They tell me where my son is in this vehicle. That happened to my son. You can see how charred and burned my son's vehicle.

Dekuipers sister Cassedy Dekuiper went to the podium to tell that she is haunted by her fatal car accident of the brothers.

“I had a very lively dream on the morning of the crash. I stood in front of his open coffin, looked at him, started crying. Almost to the ground. I can feel my brothers' lifeless body in my arms.

Dekuiper's girlfriend Samantha Schermerhorn told the courtroom how she and deception were looking forward to spending her life together.

“Sam and I had planned our whole life together. Last summer I thought we would enjoy one of the most exciting times in our lives, get started, plan our wedding, instead we had suffered the terrible process of planning a funeral,” said Schermerhorn.

Schram was sentenced to at least two years for both cases of ruthless driving, which led to injuries. When Schram had the chance to speak, he had the following to say.

“I never had to hurt him, never had any damage and it hurts me as deep as I hurt so many people in and from my life,” said Schram.

Another hearing takes place within 60 days to determine the refund to the family.
