Scene clear after the firefighting teams reacted to “big natural gas lick” in Fremont

More than 20 fire brigade units reacted to the break in the 300 block of the North 36th Street near George and Dragon Pub.

David Cuerpo with SFD said Kiro 7 that all buildings were evacuated by three blocks within a radius.

“We reacted to reports on a natural gas leak in the 300 block of the North 36th Street in the city of Fremont, where firefighters arrived on site, who confirmed that there was a big natural gas leak in the area,” he said.

Cuerpo also found that no injuries were reported.

“The exposure is not the danger that we are about,” he said. “It is the explosive limit of natural gas. At the moment we have applied for PUGET sound energy for the scene to alleviate and secure this natural gas line. At the moment, the risk of exposure to people from natural gas is minimal.”

SFD posted the fracture on Friday around 11 a.m.
