Norco, California (KABC) – The authorities in California have arrested a man in connection with fatal carjacking.

Jim Norman, a 79-year-old veteran of the army, stopped at a petrol station on Monday to vacuum his SUV before scored his family for dinner.

The authorities say that Ryan Hewitt jumped behind the steering wheel and started driving.

Norman, weak of hearing, hung from the back door of the vehicle.

The 79-year-old was pulled and died during the vacation of the thief.

“He preferred to hold his life because the door was hit on him when he was going around halfway,” said Nicole Lauritsen, Noran's daughter. “He was drawn about a quarter mile or something.”

A sheriff said Norman's daughter had been contacted and she told them that she had put an Airtag in her father's Chevy Trail Blazer.

The officials were then able to track and find the vehicle in an apartment complex and arrest Hewitt.

The 29-year-old Hewitt is held against a deposit of $ 1 million and is charged with the second degree murder and crime.

A gofundme was set up to pay Norman's memorial service.
