Anthony Davidson from Sky Sports F1 said: “He hits the floor, a lot of plank dust [on the approach to the corner].

“Then it takes a large amount of curb, most that I've seen this weekend so far.”

He added: “[The car] Turns around and hits the light plate. I am not sure whether he has reached the catch if he got a lot at all, and most of the damage was done at the tire barrier that was covered.

“You have to bring the barrier back to the state in which it was homological.”
