The desktop mode that comes to Android suggests the trimmed source code

A current report based on a leaked source code suggests that Google is preparing a desktop mode function that resembles the Samsung and Motorola Samsung and Motorola. In fact, the first traces of a desktop mode were found in 2023, but it seems that Google is about to release the function.

According to reports, the user interface has to polish more, and it is unlikely that it will arrive with Android 16. We will most likely see that it will start with Android 17 on the next generation pixel.

The function is called “Android desktop mode” and offers several cool functions such as multitasking functions with resicable windows, conventional desktop-like navigation elements, app management system similar to a desktop mode system such as Windows or Chrome operating system, seamless transition between mobile and a desktop interface, etc.

The function works when you connect the USB-C connection to an external display. However, we suspect that a wireless connection is also possible, although it is too early to say. Samsung and Motorola, for example, offer wireless connection options with their desktop modes. And if we had to advise you, the function is initially suitable from pixel phones before reaching other Android telephones.
