Tornado Watch vs. Warning

• A tornado clock means that a tornado is formed nearby and is attentive.

• A tornado warning means that a tornado has formed nearby and is looking for protection.

Rave, city warnings

• You send an enthusiastic alarm if there is a tornado watch or a warning near the campus.

• RAVE warnings can be sent by text, e -mail, social media or phone calls.

• Emergency contact information for students, faculty and employees are pre-contaminated in the rave system. To update or check contact information, visit ecs.ou.edu.

• Norman's residents can also register for emergency hardware through the city.

Standby tips

Telefone: Charge devices in advance and be ready to be without WLAN in the event of a power failure.

Updates: Pay attention to weather updates and have a protective plan if a tornado warning is output.

Home Adlucation Areas: Shooting rooms should be cleaned and have unhindered entrances. Think in advance with blankets, pillows, helmets, shoes and a safety set.

Recommendations of security kit: Bottle water, first aid kit, battery-operated flashlight, radio, charged cell phone and charger, non-perishable food, blankets, clothing, all necessary prescription medication, glasses, personal hygiene supplies, identification, insurance documentation.

Protection options

• on campus: All apartments on campus have protection options only available for students. If you have said that you say “protection in place”, do this in the building in which you are in when the warning is issued.

Outside the campus: If you do not live on campus, look for refuge at home unless you are on campus when the warning is exhibited. OU buildings are not public storm accommodations. Follow the strategy “Go, down, cover” in an interior on the bottom floor and use a helmet,/or blankets and pillows to protect yourself from potential ruins.

Norman sirens: The city of Norman can use its warning sirens outdoors in times when no rave text is not sent. In these cases, monitor local weather reports.

Drive: Do not drive during a storm and never look for accommodation under a bridge or overpass. Get off the street and the next building.
