Baloch Death Row Pedged Aziz Kabdani dies due to medical neglect

Aziz Kabdani, a 54-year-old prisoner from Baloch from Zahedan, died in the Central Prison of Iranshahr after a late transfer to a special medical facility and inadequate medical care. He had served his prison in Ward 2 of the prison.

According to information that the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights received, Kabdani, who was the father of six years, suffers from severe kidney infection and acute kidney failure. Although he was moved to the Khatam Al-Anbiya hospital on Saturday, May 10th and was admitted to the intensive care unit, the delay in treatment with the lack of medical equipment and poor health care for prison on May 17, 2025 led to his death.

The prison authorities did not immediately respond to its deteriorating state, and the medical center in prison was missing the resources that were required for emergency intervention.

Aziz Kabdani had been arrested in Iranshahr for drug accusations three years earlier and sentenced to death by the city's revolutionary court.
