Two vehicle injury accidents in Darke County – Mercer County Outlook

(5-17-25) On May 17, 2025 at around 4:59 p.m. Darke County, together with the Greenville, Greenville Fire and Greenville Township Fire/Rescue, responded to the intersection of the US route 36 and JaSville-St. Johns Road with regard to an accident with two vehicle injuries.

Preliminary examinations showed a white Freightliner Tractor/Trailer 2016, which was powered by Mohamed Abdela (37) from Dallas Texas, was on the south on Jysville-St. Johns Road on the US route 36. Abdela did not manage to give a path to a GMC 1500 driven by John Troxel (18) from Bradford, Ohio, which caused Troxel to hit the driver's side at the back of the tractor and the tractor.

Troxel and his female youth passenger were brought to Wayne Healthcare with minor injuries. Abdela was treated and released from the scene.

Abdela received a traffic quotation for failure to result in a clearly marked stop sign.
