Pentagon officer was related

Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, Dan Caldwell's high -ranking consultant, was brought into the administrative vacation under an investigation of non -authorized disclosures. The Pentagon and the government of President Donald Trump have reportedly against leaks. Caldwell's role in a signal chat in which military plans against Houthi militants were discussed in Yemen, attracted special attention.

The chief of staff Joe Kasper published a memo in which the recent non -authorized disclosures were mentioned, but gave no further details about the investigations.

Hegseth's chief of staff, Joe Kasper, wrote: “The recent non -authorized disclosures of national security information, which affect sensitive communication with school heads within the Office of the Minister of Defense (OSD), require immediate and thorough investigations.”

Kasper added: “This investigation will begin immediately and culminate in a report to the Defense Minister.”

Caldwell served as the main contact of Hegseth in a Signal -Messaging chat about military plans that are aimed at the militants of Houthi in Yemen. The national security advisor Michael Waltz created the chat, which included several cabinet members.

The details of the examined leaks were not published. The Department of Defense Personnel may have to carry out polygraphent test as part of the investigation.

Caldwell's connection to Hegseth comes from when Hegseth led veterans affected for America. Caldwell worked there as a policy director and later as an executive director. Before that, he worked as a public political advisor to defense priorities.

Kasper said: “I immediately expect these efforts to lead to information that identifies a party that is responsible for an unauthorized disclosure and that this information on law enforcement is transferred to the corresponding law enforcement agency.”
