Man shot in Lower Providence: Officials – NBC10 Philadelphia

A 47-year-old man was shot on the bright daylight in Lower Providence on Saturday, the district's public prosecutor said in Montgomery County.

The shootout occurred around 4:46 p.m. near the intersection of Ridge Pike and CrossKeys Road, official said.

The victim – which is only identified until the officials contact themselves next to children – was taken to the hospital with several gunshot wounds, where he died a short time later, officers said.

A suspect was taken into custody, officials said, but what exactly the shootout caused was not announced.

The police had the area blocked for hours and caused some traffic problems in the area.

A resident said he had problems picking up his daughter, but he understood why the police did what they did.

“You want to be aware and vigilant and have situational awareness. Everything can happen anywhere,” said Scott Jablonski. “I think what happened today.

A joint examination by Montgomery County Detective and the Lower Providence Police Department is underway, civil servants said.
