The unity of human trafficking continues the effort to combat crime in the northeast of Portland

This was cooperation among the priority projects of human trafficking, in the priority projects of the Eastern and Nordviertel, the central district, the Detective Division, the Special Resources Division, the Department of Sacrificial Services, the district prosecutor of Multnomah, Multnomah County Parole & Probation and Safety Compass.

The following people were arrested or quoted for ORS 167.008 Commercial Sexual Advertising (CSS) and/or Portland City Code 14a.40.50 Itsuwful Procurement Activities (UPPA) and other known crimes.

Weapons and drugs were also recorded as evidence.

Six vehicles were towed during this period, and additional information was collected in connection with other alleged buyers, alleged human dealers and ongoing investigations for human trafficking. Twenty -six providers have been contacted and offer services via civil servants or supporters. HTU continues to use the PPBS partnership Unit and security compass for victim services for public relations at the road level for provider contacts.

Safety Compass is a non -profit organization that offers individuals under the age of 25 that identify as survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking. About 25 providers were contacted and offer support or connection to resources.

HTU cases are complex with several identified obstacles such as repeated traumatic exposure, trauma bonds with human dealers and fear of retaliation. In these cases, the survivors often hesitate to report, create a report and/or to continue through the criminal justice process. The HTU continues to offer traumacelly, sacrificed services in conjunction with supporters from PPB victims and community-based partnerships such as Safety Compass.
