McBride, 4×400 meter relay rating at Secs

Lexington, Ky. – Vanderbilt Track and Field Student athletes scored 12 points from Thursday to Saturday at the Sec Outdoor Championships and added seven points to the program record books on the way.

“While this conference and the NCAA are developing, we will continue to develop in Vanderbilt,” said Althea Thomas, director of Cross Country and Athletics. “It was very special to see our seniors who we have had here for four years and those who have switched to the product and believed in the product that we found out. It was a really good meeting and a really good performance in relation to how we appear.”

The 4 × 100-meter relay of the Commodores from Ella Escobar, Tina Benzinger, Joy Moorer and Josie Donelson achieved one season best of 45.20 seconds in order to include 3rd in the top 10 list in the top 10 list.

Julia Rosenberg took 10th place in the 1,500 meter finals with a time of 4: 24.64.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Allyria McBride achieved a fifth place with a time of 57.29 seconds and scored four points for Vanderbilt.

The Dores ended the weekend with a rating performance in the 4 × 400-meter relay. Moorer, Donelson, Madyson Wilson and McBride took eighth place with a best season of 3: 35.86, who took fourth place in the program history.

Qualifyors for the first round of the NCAA East will be announced next week, and the regional meeting will take place on May 29 and 31 in Jacksonville, Florida.
