The Mexican naval ship beats New York Bridge, people who saw hanging on masts

Several videos have become viral, such as a Mexican sailing ship on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York and 22 people on Saturday.

The videos showed the top of the three masts of the ship, which slammed into the legendary bridge and partially collapsed when the boat hovered in the East River.

In one of the videos, the masts were able to snap together and partially collapsed when they joined the deck of the bridge.

Visuals on social media also showed people who hold on to the masts.

“We saw someone dangling and I couldn't say whether it was just blurred or my eyes, and we could zoom on on our phone, and at least 15 minutes before they could save them, someone dangled from above from the dishes,” said a witness of the Associated Press.

The Mexican Navy said that the Cuauhtemoc, about 297 feet long and 40 feet wide training ship, was damaged in an accident with the Brooklyn Bridge, which prevented it from continuing its journey.

In one post on X it says that 22 crew members were injured, three of whom have serious injuries.

“The secretary of the Navy renews her commitment to the security of the staff, transparency in their businesses and excellent training for future officials from Mexican Armada,” she wrote in Spanish.

According to reports, the ship reports it every year at the end of the lesson at the Marine military school to complete the training of the cadets. This year it left the Mexican port of Acapulco on April 6 with 277 people on board and was to visit 22 ports in 15 nations, including Kingston, Jamaica. Havana, Cuba; Cozumel, Mexico; And New York.

It had also planned to go to Reykjavik, Iceland; Bordeaux, Saint Malo and Dunkirk, France; And Aberdeen, Scotland, among other things, for a total of 254 days, 170 of them at sea.
