A Mexican sailing ship has come into the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City and, according to officials, violates at least 19 people, including four who are in a critical condition.

The Mexican Navy said in a post on X that the Cuauhtemoc, an academy training vessel, was damaged in an accident with Brooklyn Bridge, which prevented it from continuing her journey.

The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on X that his ambassador in the USA and officials from the Mexican consulate in New York were in contact with the local authorities to support “cadets affected”, but did not mention injuries.

The Brooklyn Bridge, which was opened in 1883, has a 490-meter main area of ​​almost 1,600 feet.

According to the city's transport department, more than 100,000 vehicles and an estimated 32,000 pedestrians cross the bridge every day, and its sidewalk is an important tourist attraction.
