Watch Live: Pope Leo XIV, born in Chicago, is installed in Rome

Pope Leo XIV's first trade fair begins on Sunday morning Chicago Time (10 a.m. in Italy) in St. Peter's Basilica and Square in the Vatican in Rome.

The first American Pope to be born as Robert Prevost in Chicago was elected on May 8th as Pope 267.

Many friends and colleagues from Prevost's time in Chicago and elsewhere will be available for his installation.

Managers from all over the world will be present. Vice President JD Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio should participate. Others plan to be in Rome, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, British Prince Edward, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Polish President Andrzej Duda and Dina Boluarte, the President of Peru, where Prevost served as a bishop for two decades.

The 69 -year -old Leo will begin the day by doing his first tour through the Piazza in Popemobil. The open vehicle has become a synonym for the global reach of the papacy, which is used at home and abroad to bring popes close to her herd.

After the festive public tour on the pitch, Leo goes to the basilica to start the ceremonial ceremony in order to open his service in a number of rites to emphasize the service he is supposed to offer to lead the Catholic Church. He first prays in the grave of St. Peter, who is the first Pope under the main altar of the Basilica, and then goes to St. Peter's Square for the fair.

During the fair, Leo receives the two strong symbols of the papacy: the lambswool stole, known as the pallium, and the fishing ring. The ring, which becomes Leo's official seal, symbolizes Jesus' call to the apostle Peter to throw its fishing nets.

The other symbolic moment of the fair is the representation rite of obedience to Leo: While in the past all cardinals would obey the new Pope, recent papal systems contain representatives of cardinals, bishops, priests, deacons, now, married coupes and young people who take part in Ritus.

In the days since his historical elections, Leo has already outlined some of his most important priorities as Pope and emphasized a message of peace. So it is not known whether he will use his installation as a mission statement as some of its predecessors.

Leo swore all efforts to find peaceful goals in the wars in Ukraine, in Gaza and elsewhere. As a priority, he also identified the challenges of humanity through artificial intelligence and made the parallel to the challenges of human dignity by the industrial revolution, which was triggered with his namesake, Pope Leo XIII, from 1878 to 1903.

After the break and at the end of the fair, Leo will offer a last blessing and then go to the basilica to welcome the heads of the more than 150 official delegations.

Since he was elected Pope, the hometown of Dolton, his child house and the church that his family visited has been a spotlight in the southern hometown of the Pope in the south of the Pope.
