BMW 3 Series and i3 50 years of issue: exclusive video

BMW will organize a big show next week for the 50th anniversary of 3 series in the Concorso d'Elanza Villa d'Este. However, the milestone was celebrated thousands of miles away. China is the first market to receive a special edition to commemorate half a century of the E21. BMWblog filmed the limited sports sedan in Auto Shanghai.

We have rotated the 330i with a standard rod (G20), but BMW also offers the more spacious 330 Li (G28) with an additional hind leg freedom. Chinese customers who are interested in Electric can receive the 50 -year edition as i3. The fully electric 3 series is only sold with the long wheelbase. In the first part of the video there is a 330i that is completed in Thundernight Metallic, although buyers can also choose frozen pure gray. Both colors are new to what BMW's largest individual market remains.

So what does the 3 -year edition really make out? From the front, the kidney grill has an illuminated contour. Along the profile there are newly designed 19-inch Bi color wheels and a 50-year logo on the B-pillars. The rear exceeds the familiar design, but benefits from a Shadowline package with a black spoiler for trunk lid.

Although it is a 330i, the interior has a similar to an M340i. The steering wheel with flat floor is wrapped in Alcantara with a red 12 o'clock strip. BMW improved the cabin with Alcantara door slabs, a material that also appears on the seats, combined with artificial leather. A 3 Series in China shows this two -material interior for the first time. There are blue seams everywhere, and the carbon fiber cladding on the center console includes a “3 50 years” logo under the Idrive controller.

The electrical 3 series is only available as i3 Edrive40L (G28). BMW presented the EV in frozen pure gray in Auto Shanghai with the i3-specific radiator grille pattern and illuminated kidney cracks. The steering wheel lacks the Alcantara finish of the gas-powered variant, but otherwise the car is essentially the same, apart from another bike design.

BMW takes the 3 Series Golden Jubilee with 1,000 units for the 330i and 1,400 standard for the 330li. With only 100 units for the i3 Edrive40L, the rarest of the trio is.
