All Gamecube games #44: NBA 2K2

Outside EAS FIFA and Madden, 2K games are the biggest name in sports games. But they weren't always part of the publishing giant two-sie were originally part of Sega, with the 2K and Sega Sports Branding used for simulation-like sports games that were separated from their arcade-like titles. After losing the NFL license and decreasing the sale of other sports games (such as NBA 2K), they sold the developer and the brand to two.

NBA 2K2 definitely nails the simulation type of basketball, which means that even if all fouls were switched off, I could not find a way to defend at all, and that the agreement can only be alternated to score. I am sure that those who are much more interested in basketball can do much better, but it is not for me. There is an impressive amount of options and modes, and the creation tools make it possible to invent your own team fairly easily.

There is also an additional “street” mode that counts outside of dishes and lower players (you can choose how many per team). The gameplay itself does not change, but it is still a funny little addition.

NBA 2K2 is probably a great game for those who are fully in basketball, but is not friendly to those who don't know so well.

fine

Fun

It may not have a lot of competition, but NBA 2K2 is the GameCube Roundball simulation that you can beat. The abundance of gameplay modes exhibits that of the competition, the gameplay can sometimes be slightly faulty, but remains mostly scarce, and the graphics are more than appropriate. Thanks to the streetball mode, it is as if two games in one. Visual concepts still have a few slight mistakes to train and can improve the game of the game, but if this is the case, the NBA 2K franchise is difficult to exceed.
