Crash on the I-64 in Norfolk leaves a dead man; Another in custody, says VSP

The state police said that Devon Acevero, 25, drove a BMW 2005 when he lost control, lost from the street and hit the Jersey wall.

The BMW then crossed all traffic traces before falling off with a Jeep Cherokee 2021. The crash caused the jeep to roll over several times and was rested by the street, the state police said.

According to the authorities, Acevero and his passenger were both unharmed in the crash. The driver of the jeep was brought to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non -life -threatening injuries. His passenger and mother-in-law, 70-year-old Paulette Angela Chambers from Virginia Beach, died at the scene.

Acevero was determined to be under influence, and after consultation with the Commonwealth lawyer, he is charged with Dui Manschlags, said the Virginia State police. Acevero is currently in the Norfolk City prison.

Due to the ongoing studies, the lanes are closed to the east in the region.
