Three sentenced to death for Shahcheragh terrorist attacks

An Iranian judgment of the Islamic Revolution in Shiraz has convicted three of the 7 remaining perpetrators who are charged with terrorism that were condemned to death with the ShahcherAGH attacks related to charges.

The Shahcheragh shrine, an important religious location in the southern Iran, became fatal terrorist attacks in 2022 and 2023, with the militant Daesh group asserting responsibility.

According to the highest judge of the province of Fars, Seyyy, Sadrollah Rajaei-Stasab, the three so-called masterminds of the attack were sentenced to death because of their leading role in the terrorist operations in the amount of the Islamic definition of “spreading corruption on earth”. The three main perpetrators also received 25 years of prison.

Two members of Daesh received prison conditions for their participation in the provision of weapons, ammunition and other logistical support for 10 and 15 years, while two women were convicted of five years.

He added that due to the Islamic forbearance and the special circumstances of the convicted women, their punishments outside the prison are delivered under electronic surveillance within one kilometer radius of their houses.

The judicial officer said that the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Shiraz had closed the case after months of investigation and hearings. However, he added that other cases that were connected with it remained open.
