The 17-year-old shot, which was killed in Kearn's high in the robbery

Kearns-a 17-year-old boy was shot in the Kearns High School parking lot early Sunday in order to have become bad.

The shootout occurred at 1:49 a.m. at the High School, 5525 S. Cougar Lane.

An 18-year-old man who “sold a product” was alone in the parking lot when a vehicle with four people arrived, said Unified Police Lt. Melody Cutler.

“Two people get out of this car and both have weapons.”

The man then ran to the trunk of his car to get his own weapon. “While this happens, one of the men who have a weapon comes to the side of his car and aims at him. So our 18-year-old man begins to run away while he shoots at her,” said Cutler.

Then he shot a 17-year-old boy, she said. The shooter then marked the officers nearby.

The boy was taken to a hospital in which he died of his injuries.

The police searched for the other three occupants of the vehicle on Sunday.

While the shootout is considered a murder, no arrests were made.
