The former LAPD officer Ruben Palomares shared insights into his interactions with Rafael Perez and David Mack, key figures in the notorious rampart scandal. Palomares detailed his own participation in illegal activities, which points out that some film representations, such as scenes from “training day”, reflect real scenarios. Palomares in a corrupt environment reported on his operations in which narcotics, cash and weapons were involved. Despite his efforts to avoid violence, he admits that there were cases in which narcotics and blows were involved. Palomares knew Rafael Perez, who got shame because he stolen narcotics from Lapd's ownership and had a unarmed gait member streamed, which led to an illegal prison sentence. He also mentioned David Mack's infamous 722,000 dollar raid near the USC. While Palomares was not close friends with these figures, he recognizes the widespread corruption within the crash unit of LAPD.
