Desoto you killed with us 61 on Saturday

Weldon Spring, Mo. (first alarm 4) – A motorcyclist who drove south on the US Highway 61 was killed when a driver took out in front of him in Jefferson County on Saturday evening.

Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer identifies people who are involved in traffic accidents, but say that the killed person is a 22-year-old man from Desoto. After the crash, he was brought to the body hall of the St. Louis district.

The crash occurred at 10:33 p.m. on US 61 in the Herky Horine Road. Soldiers say that the Desoto man was 61 to the south on the USA and approached the crossing of the Herky Horine Road at high speed.

A 67-year-old High Ridge man who was stopped on the Herky Horine Road began to turn left in a Buick SUV and did not see the oncoming motorcycle, said the Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle hit the left side of the Buick and the motorcyclist was ejected. He was declared dead at the crime scene.

Soldiers say that the motorcyclist wore a helmet when the accident happened.
