Followers gathered on Sunday afternoon in the Hopstix Brewery in Chamblee for “Hops for Hope”, a community donation campaign for the two-year remission of Sebi Sebi “Sebi” by CNS Neuroblastom, a rare and aggressive pediatric brain tumor.

The event was the month of brain cancer and collected donations for the Sebistrong Foundation, which the Sebi family launched to help others navigate the difficulties of childhood cancer.

What you say:

At the age of three, Sebi diagnosed brain surgery, chemotherapy and months of therapy to learn basic functions such as walking and speaking. Its recovery history has become a symbol of the resilience, and the foundation of its family now offers services such as hospital care kits, “Warrior Wagons” and the financial support of the families concerned.

“Three years ago, my son was diagnosed with brain cancer,” said Sarah Tran, Sebi's mother and founder of Sebistrong Foundation. “They try to find a meaning in it, and for us it meant returning. We have made families who stay in hospitals and also made financial support for nursing packages and meals.”

Tran emphasized that the toll pediatric cancer takes over both emotionally and financially. “It also has an enormous financial burden. Most parents have to stop working during the treatment,” she said. “So it is important to think about financial opportunities to support these families.”

Local perspective:

The fundraising campaign drew supporters from all over Chamblee and Brookhaven and offered an afternoon of the joint connection and raised the awareness of an illness that affects around 285 children before the age of 20.
