The Hampton police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on the W. Mercury Boulevard

Hampton, va. – The police in Hampton examined a fatal accident with a pedestrian who took place late on Sunday evening at the West Mercury Boulevard.

The emergency services received a call around 10:50 p.m. and reported the incident in the 1000 block of the West Mercury Boulevard, the police said. When the police and the fire brigade rescue arrived, they found a man on the street.

According to the Hampton police, the man was declared dead at the crime scene.

The police said that the man crossed the lanes of the West Mercury Boulevard to the east in the North Armistead Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver didn't stop and fled from the scene.

According to the authorities, there is a crosswalk in the place where the man tried to cross. His name was not published because the authorities notify his family.

The incident is examined by Hampton's crash reconstruction team.
