Victory Defender suffers serious knee injury

The experienced defender of Melbourne Victory Brendan Hamill is available after broke the front cruciate ligament in his right knee in the 1-0 defeat of his team against Auckland FC in his right knee.

Hamill was forced from the field in the 56th minute of the Saturday evening in Aami Park. The victory confirmed the worst fears of the player and the club on Monday.

“Hamill will be subjected to a reconstructive operation in the coming days, and the association will continue to provide support for Brendan that will lead to the next season,” says a winning declaration.

Hamill will be commissioned to win by the end of the next season, but is now facing the view that it is only in the last phases of the association's 2025-26 campaign again.

The 32-year-old central defender was a late admission to the starting team of the victory on Saturday after a hip injury was discarded captain Roderick Miranda.

Hamill, who undertaken a total of 180 A-League appearances in four clubs, not only replaced Miranda in the 11 of the victory, but also wore the captain's weapons in the absence of Portuguese import.

The Melbourne team will sweat on Miranda's fitness before the second leg on Saturday evening in Auckland, where the victory of the difficult task faces their defeat in the first leg to reach the Grand Finale from May 31.

In the meantime, Perth Glory will organize Italian Giants AC Milan on July 31st Park in the previous season.

Anthony Radich, Chief Executive Officer from Glory, said AC Milan was a “big Drawcard” in Perth after playing a game in Western Australia against the Top-Outfit Roma in Western Australia last year.

“From a football perspective, we look forward to ending our minds against such high-quality opponents as part of our preparations for the A-League campaign 2025-26, and I know that our players will enjoy the challenge,” said Radich.
