Man who was killed in the municipality

Belle Chase, La. (WVUE)-a 25-year-old Gretna man died in the early Sunday (May 18) after a collision between his electric scooter and a pickup in the LA 23 near the L Street.

The soldiers with the State Police Break B replied to the crash at 12:30 p.m. Investigators that Herby Louis-Jeune had driven an electric scooter on the right lane when he was hit in the same direction by a 2015 Ford F-2550.

Louis-Jeune suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The authorities said that he had not worn a helmet, had no lights on the scooter and was dressed in dark clothing at the time of the crash.

The driver of the pick -up was unharmed and showed no signs of impairment. A voluntary breath test confirmed that the driver was under the legal alcohol limit, the police said.

The crash is examined.
