Why Accra trendt

A flooded property in Accra after the heavy downpour on Sunday on Sunday

Accra, Ghana's capital and the most important economic and political center of the country, are in parts of the country for the wrong reasons for the false reasons after hours of rainfall on Saturday, May 17th, and on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Especially the Sunday rain casting, which lasted almost four hours, led to the immersion of several areas in the capital, which led to considerable damage to real estate and had flooded many houses.

Remarkable among the damage are video photography, the severe floods in countries around the Eastern Legon hill, Pantang, adeneta and surrounding areas show locations that are often seen as first-class residential areas with high-priced real estate and the residents are sold by their houses.

Some Internet users have expressed outrage and attributed the constant floods to the poor urban planning and the construction of buildings on waterways by real estate developers.

They argue that the Desist roofing cannot provide a permanent solution for the flood problem and ask the government to take drastic measures, including the prevention of buildings in waterways and drainage channels.

On the other hand, some Internet users have shared the view that the flooding of houses in main areas, including goods such as East Legon Hills and Pantang, has an indication that the high prices calculated by real estate agents – in particular those specified in foreign currencies are not justified.

In the meantime, others have also complained how the problem of several years of flooding is repeated at every precipitation, but little or no measures seem to have been taken, which expresses skepticism that the situation is likely to be repeated in the coming years.
