The police and criminal officer of Cleveland start the plan to combat razor crime

A new plan to combat knife crime was launched by Cleveland's police and criminal officer to protect young people from serious violence.

New figures show that the area of ​​Cleveland Force had the third highest rate of razor crime in the country for the last year in the record behind the West Midlands police and the London Metropolitan Police.

According to the Office for National Statistics, 137 knife crimes in Cleveland were committed in Cleveland.

The new action plan, which was presented in the Riverside stage of Middlesbrough, identifies four important topics.

First, the plan aims to prevent violent crime through education and offer alternatives to violence, including School programs, youth activities and support for families.

The force also wants to occur with early interventions and give people long -term skills and opportunities to try to prevent them from going into razor crime at all.

Another part of the Cleveland police strategy is that the community plays an active role in preventing razor crime.

As part of the start of the plan, a “blood cabinet” is donated to the Riverside stage.

These special first first aid kits usually contain associations, tournique and gloves so that a member of the public can control heavy bleeding until professional help arrives.

Matt Storey, Commissioner of the Police and Crime, said: “The ultimate goal of the action plan for knife crime is to build on the work that has already been carried out to ensure that individuals have the instruments and support to prevent them from being involved in knife crime and serious violence.”

Chief Inspector Stuart Hodgson, the management of Cleveland's razor crime, said: “By working together to create an enemy environment for knife supports, to deal with our communities and to train young people about the dangers of wearing knives, we can make changes and reduce crime crime.”
