Severn Trent is shared by water -saving tips while the dry weather continues

In the further course of the hot May weather, Severn Trent has seven water-saving tips on households shared-of houses to save their water consumption and bills.

Last year, the water savings week was supported by 4.7 million people, and this year Severn Trent is participating by encouraging people to become real water-saving heroes by getting involved in the daily challenges that range from the benefit of the laundry charging to the performance of one minute after the shower.

From the back of the MET office, in which it was announced that the country has had the driest march for 60 years, the sunniest April, followed by extremely warm and dry weather in May, there is of course fewer water in rivers and reservoirs, and so people are encouraged to be water if the warm and dry weather continues.

Howard Perry, Severn Trent Network Operations Lead, said: “There are simple things you can do to aware of the water that you use, like a jug of water in the fridge so that you do not wait for the cold cold to change the hose to realize irrigation, and quickly repair with leaks or broken taps.

“Since water is a precious resource, we encourage people to take into account water consumption, especially if the drier and warmer weather continues.”

To ensure that you carefully manage your water and have a positive leap in your finances this summer, follow some of the following tips:

1. Turn the taps off if they are not used – Did you know that a tap used over six liters of water per minute? If you switch them off during your teeth, you save over 12 liters of water. When you wash the dishes, it helps to fill the bowl with water instead of having a running tap, saving water.

  1. Collect rainwater – Water pistons are a great way to store rainwater in your garden so that you can use plants and your grass. Your roof collects enough rainwater to fill a water piston 450 times a year so that you can leave the hose and save hundreds of liters of water.
  1. Fix licks quickly – We often find that people tend to capture licks, but even small leaks can waste significant amounts of water. So regularly check your taps, shower heads and toilets on leaks and repair them as soon as possible. You can find more information about the leak detection here.
  1. Use water -efficient devices -We all love a power shower, but they use a lot more water than a normal shower. Therefore, consider installing water-saving devices such as shower heads with a low river or dual flush toilet that do the same job while using less water.
  1. Try a shower timer – Showering are one of the largest water consumers in a household. And while you like to sing through your setlist as you wash the foam out of your hair, a shower timer may keep you on the right track to spend less time there. This will not only contribute to reducing the water bill, but also reducing your energy bill, and your neighbor's ears will also benefit from it!
  1. Perform full loads – Dishwasher becomes a lot of energy and water -efficient and can only be more efficient than washing dishes by hand if they are used correctly if it is full. In a similar way, only the use of your washing machine on a full load means less cycles and less used water.
  1. Get a water knife – After installation, most customers consciously strive to use less water as soon as they switch to a water knife. The measuring devices mean that they only pay for what they use and blame them for their bills.
