Boy Hit, killed after chasing ball into the Mayfair Street – NBC10 Philadelphia

A child was hit and killed in a tragic crash, which happened when the boy tried to get a ball that had fallen onto the street on Sunday, the police said.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday, May 18, 2025, around 7.35 p.m. after a three-year-old boy “suddenly” ran on the street along the 3100 block of the Teadale Street in the Mayfair Section Northeast Philadel Philaden to get a ball.

According to the officials, the child was hit by a Nissan Murano who was driven along the street at that time.

The police said the boy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced on Sunday around 8:39 p.m.

Officials said the driver of the Nissan had remained at the scene after the incident occurred.

No arrests were made and the police did not say whether the driver is suspended in this incident. However, the police said that an investigation is going on.
