Ryan Hinton was killed by shot on the side

Cincinnati-Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco published preliminary information about the autopsy of 18-year-old Ryan Hinton, who was shot by a Cincinnati police on May 1st.

Sammarco said Ryan had three gunshot wounds – although she could not say whether two of these gunshot wounds were caused by the same ball or not.

A gunshot wound was through his left forearm and only damaged soft tissues in his arm, said Sammarco.

Another firing wound was found on his left side under his armpit. This wound killed him, said Sammarco. This ball traveled through his chest, hit the seventh rib, walked through the left ventricle of his heart and, according to the forensic doctor, left through his sternum.

A third gunshot wound was found next to his shoulder in his “postero-lateral breast”, said Sammarco. This ball drove under the skin and only damaged soft tissue; Sammarco said that Bullet had come to stop directly under the base of the skull, and the forensic doctor's office was able to pick up.

She said it was possible that the ball that Ryan's arm runs through, also went through his side, but she said that the forensic doctor's office cannot certainly say whether this is the case, as this ball was not found by her office. She said they only found fragments of this ball in Ryan's body.

Ryan was not shot in the back, said Sammarco.

When asked how the ball that occurred near Ryan's shoulder, Sammarco refused to comment on any body cameras or speculation.

“You have to talk to someone about it,” she said. “I can't comment in which position his body was at the time.”

She said that her office cannot determine the order in which the gunshot wounds were inflicted.

Sammarco said Ryan's family was also informed about the results of her office, and the family ordered an independent autopsy.

A lawyer from Ryan's family said they asked for an independent autopsy, but his expert is waiting for additional information from Sammarco's office to complete your results.

“We endeavor to complete our independent autopsy and will publicly share it as soon as we receive the information already requested,” says the explanation of the Cochran company. “At first glance, it seems that the information made by Cincinnatis police chief during their press conference on May 2 does not match what the forensician of the Hamilton County presented today.”

When she showed the school cameras for public corporation one day after the shootout, the police chief of Cincinnati, the police chief of Cincinnati, the police officer of Cincinnati, who shot Ryan, said around four to five shots fired; Ryan was hit by two of these balls. Theetge said that he had been hit in his chest, the ball left his back and once in his arm, but this ball went through his arm and his side.

Sammarco said she was not sure where Theetge received this information, although she said that the police could have been present for the autopsy that was carried out on May 2.

“So I ask that we provide the autopsy results from our office,” said Sammarco. “So that you get the real facts. And I don't know how the police were informed.”

The complete autopsy of the Coroner office on Ryan Hinton is not yet ready to be published. Sammarco said your office is still waiting for the test results and will only release this information when your complete examination has been completed.

Sammarco said she wanted to publish information about Ryan's death to alleviate the grief and deliver the full facts.

“I think in my 13 years in the office, transparent with the public and the media with what we find and what we found was something that we do routinely, and that is part of what I did in the office is that I want to be transparent,” said Sammarco. “I think you have the right to know and I think the family has a right to know, and that's why we wanted to present the actual facts and have no guess out there.”

Last week the Sammarco office sent an e -mail that canceled a press conference for Friday, citing a summary of the Grand Jury. On Monday, Sammarco said in her 13 years as a Coroner of Hamilton County that she had never received a summary of the Grand jury, so she was not sure what it brought about.

“How many of them know that Dr. Sammarco wanted to hold a press conference (Friday) at 9 a.m. to discuss the autopsy knowledge on Ryan Hinton,” said the chief administrator Andrea. “[Thursday] We received a summons of the Grand Jury, which (to the forensic doctor prevent the discussion of investigation details). “

A spokesman for the Hamilton County public prosecutor would not confirm whether an investigation by the Grand jury is underway. In an explanation, Hamilton County, Connie Polleich, said that this was the normal process.

“We want a complete and thorough examination in which we collect all information before making a decision about how we can go forward,” says a explanation from Polleich.
