The Alachua police arrest 2 for crimes against minors

After an investigation by the Alachua Police Department (APD), two adults were arrested for inappropriate behavior with young victims.

According to an APD publication sent on Monday, the law enforcement authorities Chiarel Ruby Davis (38) from Chiefland and Nicholas Jabarri Scott (35) from Gainesville arrested several charges.

Davis was charged with sexual attacks by a person aged 24 and over because of a 16- or 17-year-old victim, traveling to meet a minor, to disturb the custody of a minor and contribute to the delinquency of a minor.

Davis was supposedly sexual activities with a youthful victim, provided the minor marijuana and sent the victim explicit pictures and news. She also made unattended meetings with the minor without the consent of the parents.

With the distribution of obscene material, Scott was commissioned to make a minor and the use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a crime after he supposedly sent explicit images to one of the victims and communicated with a young person in a way that violated the law of Florida.

The APD examination started according to a report by a affected parent. Both Davis and Scott were known to the victims and their families and allegedly interacted with them under the pretext of friendship.

“This case is reminiscent of the need for vigilance in protecting our youth,” said Jesse Sandusky, chief of police at Alachua, in the press release. “We praise the victims for their bravery to report and thank our detectives for their diligence and professionalism.”
