Ranking all Taylor Swift cardigans – central times

Taylor Swift's influence on pop culture and fashion grows with every album that she releases. Their characteristic object, the cardigan, began as a lyrical metaphor in her 2020 song “Cardigan” and quickly turned into an adult aesthetics, which was characterized by the publication of a knitting sweater connected to its Volklore album. Since then, the cardigan has become a heart of Swift's branding, with each new design reflecting the tone and graphics of its corresponding era. The most recent debut of the Fearless (Taylor's version) Cardigan has re -increased interest in this iconic line of collective knitting paths. I myself own two cardigans, the Cardigan from 1989 and the Folklore Cardigan. As someone who is deeply familiar with this corner of Swiftie culture, here is my ranking of every official Taylor Swift cardigan, each of which rates on design, thematic relevance and overall effect.

10. The department for tortured poets

There is subtle and then there is unforgettable – and unfortunately this cardigan tends to the latter. With its general design and the lack of distinctive details, it hardly registers as an official Taylor Swift Merch. This cardigan feels strangely calm and reserved for such an intensive album as “The Tomet's Department”. Perhaps this minimalist approach was intended, but compared to the others, it simply doesn't say much.

9. 1989

“1989 (Taylor's version)” is an album full of seagulls, sunsets and perfection of the synth pop-but the cardigan brought nothing of it. The bright blue is definitely brave, but it doesn't scream in 1989 how the album does the picture of the album. It is fun, and as the owner of this cardigan itself, I don't hate it at all, it is only too short compared to others.

8. Vacation (beige)

This cardigan is one of two attempts to make a festive turn, but the beige base with red trim just doesn't do it for me. The color combination feels a little, especially if there is already a similar pallet in the line -up that is much more cute. While it still seems cozy, the charm and the emotional attraction of the original folklore cardigan is missing.

7. Say now

This is difficult to maneuver, especially with its deep -violet color and the sparkling details, but it only feels a bit boring. For such an emotionally charged era, the cardigan does not completely do justice to the drama. It is pretty, but not particularly sustainable or unforgettable.

6. Red

I really love this. It is simple, classic and fully captures the cozy, autumnal side of the red era. But compared to some other cardigans, it just doesn't notice that. It's sweet and nostalgic, but others are definitely better.

5. Fearless

As the latest addition to the Cardigan collection, the fearless design offers a subtle golden color that remains relatively neutral. While it may not be as versatile or striking as some of the other designs, its novelty gives a certain charm and really fits the overall mood of the fearless album.

4th holiday (gray)

This cardigan combines steamed gray with forest green and creates a calm, earthy aesthetics that feels both comfortably and reserved. While it may not have the bold presence of some other designs, it makes simplicity and warm color palette a versatile and timeless piece.

3. midnight

A slim, polished atmosphere with its deep navy tones and subtle light blue star accents captures a slim, polished atmosphere. The design reflects the deep, reflective atmosphere of the album, and I particularly love the rich marine, not only because it is my favorite color, but also because it also feels very timeless and full of depth.

2. Lovers

This cardigan embodies a soft, bizarre aesthetics, similar to the album. His cream base and pink heart buttons give a beautiful touch. The subtle pink accents contribute to a light, happy atmosphere, which feels both uplifting and calmly. Overall, the cardigan is enchanting and was a really nice surprise when it was released.

1. Folklore

The original, the foundation, the cardigan, which set the standard. With its coherent black and cramer color scheme and the cable-nastical texture, this piece perfectly embodies the folklore aesthetics. The keys give a touch of mood and make it not only a cozy piece of clothing, but also a reflection of the haunting, essential properties of the album. The outstanding piece of the collection remains without question. This is not just my favorite album of Swift is, but also my favorite knitted jacket and something I often wear because it is easy to style.
