Suspicious shot after the I-5 pursuit that ended at Cain Lake

Whatcom County, WA (Mybellinghamnow.com) – A man was killed after a persecution that ended in the South Whatcom County.

The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (Smart) said that the Washington State Patrol tried to surpass the man on a stolen motorcycle in Skagit County on the night of May 17.

The 34-year-old suspect refused to stop law enforcement and led to persecution.

The deputies of the Whatcom County sheriff office were called to help when the suspect left I-5 near the Samish-Lake. The suspect led the law enforcement authorities to the Cain Lake district and left the bike for a small boat.

He took the boat to the lake and started shooting in several directions when the officers returned the fire. The suspect was hit by a ball and brought back ashore, where he died of his injuries.

No officers were injured and no nearby houses were hit by shots.

The medical examiner of Whatcom County will officially determine the cause of death of the suspect.
