Biden Audio of Special Counsel Interview emphasizes frequent memory injuries, difficulties when the topic stays

The extensive interview of former President Joe Biden with the special consultant Robert Hur put his fading memory and the obvious difficulties of being on the subject when Audio showed the discussion from October 2023 that he was often broken into long anecdotes while he was interviewed after working classified documents.

The generally more optimistic and more easy-to-compensation at the time, the often broken jokes, waxed nostalgic and used cheeky language-also roams, looked up and often the data of the most important events in his life-intended when his son, Beau, died of brain cancer, showed the audio.

The audio, which was preserved for the first time after almost 18 months of Bidens camp by Axios to publish it, highlights Hurs claim from last year that they would perceive it as “personable, well -intentioned, older man with a bad memory” if bidies were ever raised.

The flimsy understanding of the now 82-year-old in facts and data was particularly obvious when Hur answered question, where he kept documents on projects on which he worked after his vice presidency ended in 2017 when the biodes in a rented property in the Chain Island Road in McLean, VA, moved to a rented property.

“Well, um … I, I, I, I don't know. This is what, 2017? 2018? This area?”

“Yes, sir,” confirmed Hur.

“Think you think [Hillary Clinton] Had a better shot to win the presidency than me. “

In fact, from October 2008 to October 2009 Biden was deployed in Iraq and died on May 30, 2015. The mention of Hillary Clinton as a presidential candidate died the time framework that he had moved into before April 12, 2015 when she officially announced her candidacy for the 2016 election.

Hur came to the conclusion that bids would go out as a “likeable, well -intentioned, older man with a bad memory” if he was charged. AP

“I hadn't gone away from the idea that I might be able to run for an office again. But if I ran again, I would run for the president,” continued Biden.

“And and what happened … in what month Beau died? Oh God, May 30 …”

The lawyer of the White House, Rachel Cotton and a not identified male speaker, quickly interfered and reminded the president at the time that his son died in 2015.

“Was it in 2015 that he died?” Asked biden.

“It was May 2015,” said the not identified male speaker.

“It was in 2015,” repeated bidges.

Then Biden apparently struggled to remember when President Trump was elected for his first term.

“And that has happened in the meantime, is that as – and Trump will be elected in November 2017?” He asked and sounded uncertain.

“2016,” said a non -identified male speaker.

“16,” said another.

“16, 2016. Well. So … why did I have here in 2017?” Asked a confused bid.

“Then they left the office in January 2017,” remembered Edward Siskel, the lawyer of the White House.

“Yes, ok. But then Trump then becomes, January …”

“Right,” said Siskel.

“Right, right,” said his personal lawyer Bob Bauer.

Then Biden began in a broken anecdote over his son Beau, took long breaks and followed up for several different thoughts.

“Ok, yes. And in 2017 Beau was passed and – that is personal – the creation of the book and the title” Promise me, dad “was a, um … I know that you are all tight with her sons and daughters, but Beau was like my right arm and hunt,” he said.

“These boys were a year and a day apart, and they were able to end each other, and Beau-I went home on the train and I was still in the Senate … anyway,” he said with a full break with seven seconds without speaking.

“There was pressure – not pressure – Beau knew how much I revered him, and I know that it sounds … maybe it sounds like that … everyone knew how close we were. There was no one in the world who was wondering whether or not … anyway. And so …”

At that time, Hur Biden interrupted and suggested that it could be a good time to take a break that the president rejected.

“No, I … just let myself go on,” he said, before continuing his striking anecdote about his final decision to run for the president.

A few minutes in the audio later, Biden had to be reminded when he announced that he would seek the presidency.

“… Well, when did I announce the president?” he asked

“2019,” said the deputy special advisor Marc Krickbaum, who repeated Hurgen.

Bidens of obvious cognitive and physical decline became key questions, which led to his catastrophic debate performance in June 2024, which ultimately led to it broke out of the race less than a month later.

In June and July last year, Democrats and left -wing media mocked all reporting that the then president had lost a step as “fake news” and released video by showing that he seems confused or experiencing freezing as “cheap counterfeits”.

Now, however, many of the same media figures that insisted on it have “sharp as a tang” last summer, including many democratic allies, whether the inner circle of the former president hid his foggy mental state from the American public.

This week an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer was diagnosed at Biden, which has already entered the bones of the 82-year-old. The diagnosis raised new questions about whether his doctors knew that he had cancer even when he was looking for a second term as president.
