Joe Mazzulla gives update about Jrue Holiday's thigh injury.

BOSTON -The Celtics were without a Jrue holiday when they ended their first round against the Orlando Magic. The vacation missed the last three games of the playoffs with a right thigh load after excelling in games 1 and 2.

He traveled to Orlando with the team and was questionable before game 3, but was excluded from the games 4 and 5 per day in advance.

Joe Mazzulla was asked for Zolak and Bertrand on Wednesday after the status of the holiday in his weekly radio appearance at 98.5 and said that the two-time all-star improved.

“He's every day,” said Mazzulla. “He works off his ass to return there for us. It is good that we could take care of the business to bring the additional time for the rest. He works as hard as possible to get back. He will continue to be better every day.”

The Celtics have five days off before they start their next round of playoffs. You will be organizing either the Detroit Pistons or the New York Knicks on Monday, May 5th.

“Jrue is a hard guy, and I know that he will do everything to do to himself and our team,” said Mazzulla. “And he will also do what is best for him. He gets better every day and we will see how he progresses.”

Other Celtics got out of Jrue Holiday

Without a vacation, Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley Payton Pritchhard praised that he was defensively.

“I felt like Payton, all the series, his ball pressure and its effects noticeable,” said Al Horford. “He only tried to find ways to influence the game, to influence the profit. Payton was the key for us there.”

In an interview with NBC Sports Boston's Abby Chin before game 5, Derrick White found that there was no replacement for the all-defensive guard.

But if the vacation is excluded indefinitely, everyone has to try it.

“Obviously, he defensively does so much for us, and you can't really replace that,” said White. “But even aggressively to only have another playmaker out there and someone who can only pay for the defense if they have a chance. Everyone has to increase.”
