Man who was killed in Boston remembered as a “beloved son” and “valued brother”

A 21-year-old man who was killed in a shootout in Roxbury in Boston last week will be remembered as a “beloved son” and “valued brother”.

Justin Bettencourt was found shortly before 3 p.m. on May 13 with a gunshot wound near 107 Munroe St. after the police in Boston answered a report on a shootout, the police previously said. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later declared dead.

The police in Boston have not yet announced any arrests related to BettenCourt's death.

According to his obituary, Justin Jullian Louis Bettencourt was the “beloved son” by Brenda Bettencourt and the “valued brother” by Dommonic and Kendra Bettencourt. Most recently, he worked as an Usher in the TD Garden in Boston.

“Justin loved all Boston sports teams, especially for basketball. He could always play basketball with his friends in a local park,” says his obituary.

According to his obituary, bed court leaves many dear friends and relatives.

“He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was his happiest. His death is a terrible tragedy. He will really miss out by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loved him,” says his obituary.

The visiting times for bed court are planned for Wednesday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Dolan Funeral Home in Boston's district of Dorchester in Dorchester. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m.
