Google I/O 2025 LiveBlog: Lecks and rumors about Android, AI, XR and more

Google I/O, the company's annual event in Mountain View, California, takes place on Tuesday and gives the world a look at the upcoming Android, mobile and AI software. We are all looking forward to what is unveiled in the Shoreline amphitheater.

The Android Show last week revealed various options, as Google refined the mobile operating system in Big Android 16 -Update, which will take place later this year. This update will contain more reaction fast animations and security functions as well as interfaces -upgrades for Wear OS 6. This probably means that on Google I/O we will not see much of what the runway for what the search giant has concentrated on in recent years is deleted: AI.

Google has increased the way its Gemini -Generative -Ai chat bot and services integrated into its product range, from searches to cards to many of their apps. We know that Gemini will soon come to Smartwatches in Wearos and Android Auto in Android Auto in the coming months, and we expect us to see further announcements in this sense on Google I/O.

But Google has other software iron in the fire that we could learn more about, including the forays in the expanded reality.
