Ireland loses two players for injuries to the West Indian series

Jordan Neill and Dough Stephen Doheny, the all-rounder of the unhindered teenagers, are the two players who have been added to the 14-member squad, with the experienced start of Paul Stirling in the entire series against Captain Ireland against that Caribbean side led by Shai Hope.

Selector Andrew White disappointed to lose a few important players through injuries, is pleased from the occasion that their absence will take care of other squad members.

“It is not ideal if you lose a player for injury shortly before a series, but unfortunately both Young and Campher follow a long list on the rehabilitation table. The latter is strongly equipped with Mark Adair, Graham Hume, Craig Young, Fionn Hand and Curtis Campher.

“This series will be a real test of our depth, and instead of complaining about what we will not have, I believe that these absences offer a real opportunity for some of our emerging talents to play against a opposition of world class at home.”
