Semitractor trailer acid leak on the border between Farmington Hills-Livonia

A crew for dangerous materials worked on Monday evening to clean an acidity after half -factor traffic had leaked potentially dangerous chemical near the border between Livonia and Farmington Hills.

According to a social media post from the city of Farmington Hills, the fire brigade of both cities reacted on Monday around 5 p.m. Officials said an iron chloride had come to the Middle Belt Road Road south of eight Mile Road.

According to the Federal National Library of Medicine (NLM), iron chloride is an unexpected orange to Braunschwarzer solid. It is used to treat waste water, industrial waste, cleaning water, as a caustic for engraving circuit boards and for the production of other chemicals.

It can be harmful if it is swallowed and the skin burns or causes irritation or the eyes damage according to NLM. It can also be harmful to water life.

The Western Wayne Hazardous Materials Response team has been activated and technicians carried specialized “level -A” suits that offer full body protection, entered the trailer and stopped the leak, said officials.
