The police raise awareness of razor crime by national campaign

The police in Dorset raises awareness of knife crime by participating in a national campaign.

The Scepter initiative, which is driven by the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC), will be observed and enlarged efforts to combat knife crime by police forces across Great Britain from Monday, May 19th to Sunday, May 25th.

In Dorset, several activities are planned throughout the week to support this matter.

Educational presentations are produced in 16 schools throughout the district to provide the students information about the dangers of the knife and offer support.

During the week, Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth police stations are placed in Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth.

Messers are also used at public engagement events, and the civil servants will join partners at Bournemouth and the Poole College for a number of activities in connection with knife crime.

The chief inspector Andy Bell, head of razor crime for the Dorset police, said: “Although Dorset has one of the lowest rates of razor crime, we have to recognize that incidents take place and it is therefore still a power priority for combating these crimes.

“Our ongoing efforts that deal with national campaigns such as Scepter are crucial to remove knives from our streets.”

David Sidwick, commissioner of the police and crime, said: “I understand that it can worry about hearing from razor crime.

“The tragic irony is that wearing a weapon does not make it safer, but actually makes a risk of damage.”

He also praised the focus on education and prevention and explained that the enforcement alone was not the answer.

The force calls for the public to continue to report information or concerns about someone who has a knife.

This can be done via the Dorset Police website or anonymously via Crimestopper's UK at 0800 555111.

Retailers are also asked to visit the National Business Crime Center website to sell knives.

Mr. Sidwick added: “During the scepter, I will be traveling with the officials and the team Safer Schools visit during their engagements to show my support for the work that they all make to ensure that Dorset is a safe place for everyone.”
