Chicago Cubs Score and Summary (19.05.25): Marlins 8, Cubs 7

The Cubs traveled to the Landepot Park on Monday to start a series with three games with the Marlins. Chicago used a big rally to take the lead in the middle inning, but the home team came back to BAT in the final to tear it off.

Miami began the competition with a bang against Ben Brown when Jesús Sánchez and agust Ramirez were at the end of the 1st back bed solo homer. The North Siders answered fourth place against Edward Cabrera when Miguel Amaya blew up a three-run Homerun, who was just past the outstretched glove from Kyle Stowers to give the road team a 3-2 lead.

Brown drove along until they met at the end of the 5th difficult difficulties. Liam Hicks scored an RBI triple with the game and came in to achieve the starting position on a single from Javier Sanoja. Sanchez and Otto Lopez each added Run scoring goal to bring the fish 6: 3 into the lead.

Chicago used a walk and two singles so that they don't base the bases against the reliever Jesus Tinoco in the 6th. Moisés Ballesteros met a soft helicopter for the first time that the first Baseman Marlins could not cope with, and it was possible for an RBI -Infield single. Amaya then stepped onto the plate and hit a double on the wall that the game tied.

Ballesteros was initially described as safe with the starting end on the plate, but the video rating turned the call and it was out. Matt Shaw came up huge in his first game from Iowa and smoked a double double field to give the Cubs a 7: 6 lead.

Chicago held on this one-run advantage until the end of the 9th inn. Daniel Palencia got the first two outs before a double and a walk tied two with two outs. Sanchez, who opened the game with a Homer, ended it with a double double and Miami won 8: 7. ((Box score)))

Key moment

Palencia went with two outs in the last framework through the light Sanoja off Sanchez, which turned out to be very expensive.

Why the Cubs lost

No great start -up and a failure to add insurance runs late, exposed the Bullpen too much pressure.

Statistics that are important

  • Brown dominated three innings in the middle of his excursion, but the start and end were a different story: 4.2 IP, 6 R, 7 h, 8 K, 0 BB.
  • Shaw seemed much more comfortable on the plate and in addition to the doubles.
  • Amaya was huge all the season and his offense really comes.
  • De facto closer Porter Hodge was not available on Monday with a sloping injury and was placed on the IL.

Conclusion

Brown and Palencia have bad things and will give very good MLB jugs, but they are young and there will be growing pain. Unfortunately they both had this pain in the same game. These frustrating losses will take place during the season. The most important thing for the Cubs is that it does not let film start. Add it tomorrow and win that.
