Sesamestrasse goes to Netflix after Trump has taken the financing

Sesame Street and Netflix have completed a deal in which the popular TV show will be released on the streaming platform after US President Donald Trump has finished financing for free-to-air channel PBS.

Netflix said the iconic program was a “beloved cornerstone of the children's media that enchants young heads and promotes a love of learning”.

From later this year, Netflix will offer its 300 million subscribers a new season of the show and 90 hours of earlier episodes, while they are still available on PBS.

The sesame Street was also faced with an unsafe future after the entertainment giant Warner Bros Discovery, to which the HBO platform belongs, did not renew its deal with half of the century -old program.

At the beginning of this month, Trump granted an executive order to block federal financing for PBS and the Radio Network NPR.

Since then, the Government Body Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which supported the two channels, has announced the termination of a federal initiative that financed the shows for children, including Sesame Strasse.

As part of the deal, PBS will be given access to Sesame Street episodes on the same day on which they are published on Netflix.

In the late 1960s, the co -founders of Sesame Street Lloyd Morrisett and Joan Ganz Cooney turned to the Graduate School of Harvard University with a new way of teaching.

A team who was led by a developmental psychologist worked with the Sesame founders to analyze childhood psychology and produce entertaining lessons.

They worked with the Muppets creator Jim Henson to create characters like Big Bird, whereby a set looks like an urban street.

Since his first broadcast on November 10, 1969, millions of children have grew up with the topic of the show. “Can you tell me how to go, how to get to the Sesame Street?”

Over the decades, the program and its characters have achieved a life beyond the small screen.

The popular figure Elmo entered public order in 2002 when he was invited to discuss music training at the congress.

During an obesity epidemic for children in the United States in 2006, Sesame Street conducted segments for health habits to teach children about nutrition and exercise.

The biscuit monster declared biscuits as “sometimes food” and taught children a balanced diet.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama also attended the Sesam studios to film a healthy diet segment.

Netflix has increased its focus on the content of children, which is 15% of the consideration of his service.

On Tuesday there was also known that new episodes from Peppa Pig and a cell phone game with puzzles and color activities would come on the platform.

The animated show focuses on the adventures of a four -year -old Farkel named Peppa, who lives with her family in a fictional British city.
