Friends and employees remember that employees were killed in shooting in the gym

Las Vegas, nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas Athletic Club identified one of her own as victims of the fatal shootout on Friday.

According to her post, Edgar Quinonez was part of the LVAC family for 15 years. Monday hears Fox5 from other members of the LVAC family who say that it won't be the same without him.

From the housekeeper to the manager, interviews with employees and friends show that Quinonez touched the lives of many in 15 years.

“He really took care of the life of the people. He remembered details about people that no one would do,” said employee Joey Chantarasakha.

Chantarasakha was at the reception with Quinonez when shooting took place.

“He sacrificed himself to keep everyone else alive. I will be grateful forever,” he said.

Julian Foutch, who knew Quinonez since middle school, said he had visited LVAC over the weekend to process his friend's loss.

“He only takes care of it. He is the guy who is interested,” said Foutch. “He was always on the floor to help people.”

Another friend, Seven Steffani, said Quinonez would welcome him every week with a smile at LVAC.

“He was my husband. I love this child. He is like a son,” said Steffani.

Fox5 joined Steffani when he returned to a dark gym on Monday morning. Instead of greeting with a smile, a provisional monument for Quinonez grew at the front doors of the gym.

A monument grows after a fatal shooting at LVAC.

“It's getting hard,” said Steffani. “He is a guy you don't want to miss.”

Christina Cornell said that over the years she had worked with Quinonez at two LLVAC locations and described him as a great person. She said the LVAC family was incredulous that something so violent could happen to one of her own.

“This is not just a gym, this is a family,” said Cornell. “I not only send Edgar's family, but the rest of the victims and everyone who was in the gym that day, my prayers and condolences.”

Lvacs Post reads Quinonez “was a source of friendliness, commitment and positive. His presence touched the life of so many members and teammates, and his effects will never be forgotten.”
