Eyewitness video by Brooklyn Bridge Ship Ship Crash Sparks outrage

A dramatic collision with a Mexican naval ship and New York's legendary Brooklyn Bridge triggered outrage after a video recorded by a viewer, became viral on social media. The crash, which demanded the life of two naval staff and injured several others, occurred when the ship Cuauhtemoc navigated through the East River.

The now viral video shows a woman standing near the bridge, smiles and poses for the camera while the massive ship appears in the background. Moments later the Cuauhtemoc plunges against the bridge, one of its masts breaks onto the deck and breaks down. The woman turns around, apparently fascinated by the approaching ship, without aware of the upcoming catastrophe.

Tragically, two crew members fell into death during the effects, and several other injuries suffered, the authorities confirmed. The ship wore 277 employees at the time of the incident.

What has further fueled public anger is the audio in the video in which laughter and carefree comments can be heard in the background-even if the tragic accident unfolds. Social media user condemned the casual reaction, with a commentator wrote: “Why does she show and laugh when the ship hit the bridge?”

Another user wrote: “It is strange to me how many people should laugh natural reaction to it.”

“You can literally see someone who falls to death while laughing,” wrote the third user.

The Cuauhtemoc is a training ship of the Mexican Navy, and its presence in New York was part of an international goodwill tour. The cause of the collision is examined by maritime and local authorities.
