Fatal crash closes the paths on the i-88 in Lisle, Illinois

All lanes in western directions were closed early Tuesday morning on the I-88 after a fatal crash in West Vorstadt-Lisle, Illinois.

According to the state police in Illinois, two vehicles were involved in an accident near Illinois Route 53 around 4:50 a.m.

The state police said one person was declared dead at the scene. The victim's identity was not published.

A second person was taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

The traffic is redirected to the I-355, said ISP.
